Together for a Better Future for the Youth (A Sense of Home)

Every year, hundreds of young adults age out of the foster care system without a stable place to call home. At A Sense of Home, we believe that no one should face this challenge alone. Our 'Heart, Home, Hope' campaign unites communities across Los Angeles—particularly Spanish, Korean, and Chinese-speaking families—to make a lasting difference through donations and volunteer efforts. Whether it’s furniture, clothes, time, or financial support, every contribution builds hope and security for a young person in need.

How You Can Make an Impact

When we say "every donation counts," we mean it. Many of us have more than we need—extra clothes, gently used furniture, or even a few hours of free time. By donating these items or your time, you’re not just decluttering your home, you’re giving someone the chance to start theirs.

Older generations within our communities have an incredible opportunity to lead this effort. Many have extra items they no longer use, and with your help, we can turn those items into a warm, welcoming home for someone in need. Grandparents, parents, and families are at the heart of our campaign—working together to provide youth aging out of foster care with the support they deserve.

Real Stories, Real Change

In East LA, families are coming together to donate clothes they no longer wear. The Korean community in Koreatown is contributing their time, offering advice, and giving furniture to help youth feel secure. In Lincoln Heights, Chinese families are passing on furniture and housewares, proving that one family can help another. Each donation doesn’t just furnish a home—it provides comfort, stability, and a sense of belonging. And while our focus begins with these communities, we’re excited to expand and welcome anyone who believes in giving hope to LA’s youth.
